Back the Blue

Event Description
Back the Blue, a community event to show support for local law enforcement, will be at Depot Plaza starting at 6:30. A reception will be held prior at 5:30 for the community to meet local officials and law enforcement. The first 150 in attendance will receive a FREE pulled pork sandwich. 100 hot dogs will also be grilled for the kiddos. The event will celebrate our law enforcement who have and are currently serving, as well as honor those in Texas who have given their lives in the line of duty. It will feature songs, remarks and prayers. Rock painting (rocks and paint supplied) will take place in the Carnegie Room at the library. Speakers will include Mitch Slaymaker, Terry Nichols, Mayor Stephen Haynes, Harold Hogan, Pastor Stan Roberts and Brown County Sheriff's Office Chaplain Rick Phelps. This is simply a way to say "thank you" to law enforcement for everything they do for our communities.
