CASA 101: Information Session

Date: May 10, 2018 Time: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Event Description Please join us to learn more about CASA in the Heart of Texas. CASA volunteers are members of the community who are trained to act as advocates for abused/neglected children that have been brought into the custody of the State of Texas. These special volunteers get to know the child and everyone involved in the child's life in order to advocate for the child's best interests in court (and other places) while they are in the foster care system, to speak up for the child/children and give them a voice. This session is designed to answer questions about qualifications, skills needed, training provided, time requirements and commitment, and the duties and activities of CASA volunteers so that one may decide if he/she has what it takes to be a CASA...and other ways to help if not by being a CASA at this time. Every child has a chance - IT'S YOU.
