Vietnam Veterans Memorial Moving Wall

Date: June 8, 2017 - June 12, 2017
Event Description The Moving Wall, the traveling half-sized replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., will make its third visit to Brown County.
The wall, which is inscribed with the names of more than 58,000 servicemen and servicewomen who lost their lives in the Vietnam War, will be available for viewing at the 36th Division Memorial Park in Brownwood from June 8-12.
Vietnam veteran volunteers built the Moving Wall, which went on display for the first time in 1984 in Tyler. The wall's two structures are taken throughout the United States from April to November and are kept at each site for about a week
Bringing the wall to Brown County is a project of the Pecan Valley Military Veterans and Family Support Coalition, which was formed about a year ago.
The wall was brought to Brown County in 1999 and in 2007 and was set up both times at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early.
The display will be open for viewing 24 hours a day from the time it opens until the time it is dismantled for transport to its next location
