Jan 03   Family Day at the Lehnis Railroad Museum
The first Saturday of every month is Family Day at the Lehnis Railroad Museum!  The museum will present a special interpretive program at 11:00 a.m.  The first program will be a tour of the caboose, plus the Lehnis Heart of Texas Model Railroad Club will be working on the new permanent model railroad layout and will be available for questions.

Delivery will be available in the Brownwood & Early areas beginning at 10:30 a.m. or you are welcome to come to the post and have lunch with us.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will help support our area Youth Sports Activities.

The Arts Council of Brownwood is pleased to announce that the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra will be performing on Thursday, January 15 They will be conducted by Daniel Black, the newly appointed Assistant Conductor of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. He has already received critical acclaim for his performance of Handel's Messiah – a concert in which he unexpectedly had to step in after an injury to the scheduled conductor. The program will include:

Overture to The Magic Flute, K. 620, by Mozart

Symphony No. 8 in F Major, Op. 93, by Beethoven

Intermission

Symphony No. 6 in D Major, Op. 60, by Dvořk

The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce is getting set for the 2015 Brownwood Area Bridal Fair. The fair will take place on Saturday, January 24th from 10 AM - 2 PM at the Depot Civic and Cultural Center.

Brides will get a look at many of the local products and services they will need for their special day. Vendors at the show will offer information about bridal and evening gowns, beauty tips, caterers, DJs, wedding planners, honeymoon information, invitations, spas and laser skin treatment, party rental, photographers, venues, jewelers, flowers, and much more.

THIRD ANNUAL DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY SHOOT - OUT COMPETITION: The Stars of Texas will host the 3rd Digital Photo  Shoot-Out COMPETITION event on Saturday, January 31, 2015. JOIN THE PHOTO SHOOT-OUT WHILE YOU AWAIT THE RESULTS OF THE JUROR SELECTION AT THE DEPOT. The competition is similar to the Paint-Off event in that a digital photograph is to be completed within a set period of time. Entries will be judged by an independent juror for the “Best Overall Image” prize.
