Jul 05   Family Day at the Lehnis Railroad Museum
The first Saturday of every month is Family Day at the Lehnis Railroad Museum!  The museum will present a special interpretive program at 11:00 a.m.  The first program will be a tour of the caboose, plus the Lehnis Heart of Texas Model Railroad Club will be working on the new permanent model railroad layout and will be available for questions.

Wild Duck Marina's firework show and concert at Lake Brownwood.$20 ticket for 13 & up, $10 ticket for 8-12, and free admission for 7 & under is for The Remains, Brandon Rhyder and front row fireworks show at the marina. To view fireworks at no charge, the public can: park before or after the DAM and walk to view show from the dam; park at Flatrock Park; or view from their boats.

Cowboy Capital Rollergirls VS RT66 Roller Derby

On July 12th, Cowboy Capital Rollergirls will host Route 66 Derby traveling from Amarillo, Texas.  This event's proceeds will benefit The Ark, a domestic violence and secual assault shelter.

This game will be bittersweet as it marks the last game as a Cowboy Capital Rollergirl for skaters Twisted Halo (Lisa McNeal) and Baby Gee (Brianna Nelson).

Jul 17   Christian Women's Job Corps Bunco and Silent Auction
This fundraiser includes a Bunco tournament with 4 prizes plus door prizes.  A silent auction of knitted afghans and hand pieced quilts will also be held during intermission.  Silent Auction items will be available for bidding between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm. $20 Admission price includes a Mexican Haystack meal plus dessert bar. Admission is at 6:00pm. Dice will roll at 6:30 pm.  Game play will cease at 9:00 pm.

Janie Clements Industries joins the Medline Pink Glove Dance Video Competition!  As part of the competition, our organization must raise $2,000 to be donated - with ours benefiting Walker Cancer Center.  To help us reach that goal, we  will be taking donations at the gate for our 1st Annual Car Show and Dance.  JCI will also have arts and crafts items for sale and a silent auction.  Refreshment concessions will be available.  Please join us for the fun!

The West Central Texas Council of Governments Aging and Disability Center is sponsoring a summit to discuss their Housing Navigator Project serving the housing needs of those with disabilities and older adults.Mr. David Long, Executive Director, Housing and Urban Development and Janie Harper,of Redstone Park will address the multiple ways low cost housing can be funded, the lack of accessible units and what it might mean to contractors and the community in general. They will discuss the barriers currently encountered and how to overcome them.
