Oct 1    Worldwide Photo Walk
on October 1st with the Worldwide Photo Walk, a social photography event where photographers get together (usually in a downtown area or trendy section of town) to walk around, shoot photos, and have fun with other photographers. After the walk, each participant has the opportunity to submit their best photo into a contest.

Oct 1    Corks & Caps
The 2nd Annual Corks and Caps event is set for Saturday, October 1st from 6 PM - 11 PM in the Depot Plaza in Brownwood.

Corks and Caps will feature tastings of beer and wine from breweries and wineries from across the country.  A variety of food trucks will also be on hand offering food and desserts for purchase.  A cigar area will be a featured component during this event hosted by The Leaf from Abilene.   Attendees can relax and enjoy these great tastes with live music by Ronnie D and the Rockin’ ‘88’s Band (formerly the Crawfish Band).

A new addition to this year’s event will be a margarita tasting.  The top 3 winners of Brownwood’s first Margarita Make off, held September 2nd, will be the featured margaritas to taste. 

Tickets for the event will cost $25 each which will include 10 samples of the beer, wine, and margaritas offered.   Non-sample tickets for the concert only will be $10 each.  Attendees must be 21 or older to purchase tasting tickets.   The first 600 tasters will get their choice of a Corks and Caps commemorative wine glass or a beer pilsner glass.

On October 6th, the BAA Photo Group will host their annual First Thursday exhibit, this year's title "All About Texas" will feature images capturing the beauty of our great state. This event is sponsored by KTXS, the Brownwood Art Association, the Arts Council, ASAP Creative Arts, Down Home Digital, and Brookshire’s and will include free BBQ catered by the Diamond R Store & Café, and music by Bob Brewer. It's all happening on Thursday, October 6th from 5-8 p.m. at the Art Center, 215 Fisk Avenue in downtown Brownwood. Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend!

Head to Riverside Park on Saturday, October 22nd at 5:45 PM for THE Premier Central Texas Zombie run!  All proceeds will go to the Brown County United Way chapter. It is a 5k fun run in which human runners are trying to "survive" the zombies chasing after them!  The race will be chip timed, courtesy of Race Day Event Services.  With roamers and runners, anyone and everyone can participate!
Awards to the top three male & female runners and to the top Zombie flag collectors in the respective age divisions.

Oct 31    5th Annual Trick or Treat Trail
The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce and Wendlee Broadcasting have teamed up again this year to host the 5th Annual Trick or Treat Trail. This family friendly event will be held in the Depot Plaza area on Monday, October 31st from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Area businesses and organizations will offer candy, goodies, games and other fun activities free of charge to area residents.  

Also included during the event will be a Halloween Costume Contest sponsored by Demand Staff.   The contest will offer prizes in the categories of most creative costume, best couple costume , best family costume, best group costume, cutest baby costume and best children's costume.   Entry forms for the costume contest are available at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce - 600 E. Depot Street or online at BrownwoodChamber.org.
During the Trick or Treat Trail, a family-friendly will be shown in the Depot pavilion lawn sponsored by Affiliated Bank and Baird Brothers Express Car Wash.

Area businesses are encouraged to set up an activity booth during the Trick or Treat Trail to offer free games and candy to those in attendance.
