Dec 3    Toys for Kids
The annual toy drive started by the Thackers to benefit underprivileged children in Brown County. Once registered, the parents will come to the warehouse on distribution day at an assigned time. With the help of an Elf they will go in Santa's Workshop and pick out the toys for their children. the toys can then be wrapped by one of our many Santas helpers. all 500+ families will come on Dec 22 to get toys at no charge.
Approximately 200 volunteers are needed. Please call 646-6822 to let them know what hours you could work from 7am-5pm on Dec. 22nd

Dec 6    Christmas Under the Stars Parade
The annual Christmas Under the Stars Lighted Parade features over 100 entries from classic cars, floats, marching bands and other vehicles, all decorated and lit for the holiday season. 

Thousands of residents and visitors pack Downtown Brownwood each year to watch the parade as an annual tradition. 

This year, the parade is sponsored by Texas Rock Crusher Railway. 

The parade will be held on Thursday, December 6th starting at 6:30 PM.  Awards will be given to entries in several categories.  

Parade entry fee is $10 per entry if received by November 30th.  Fee is $25 after that date.  Parade is limited to the first 100 entries.

Dec 7 - Dec 8    10th Annual Christmas Under the Stars Festival
The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce and Brownwood Regional Medical Center present the 10th Annual Christmas Under the Stars Festival Friday December 7th and Saturday December 8th at the Depot Plaza Complex and the Lehnis Railroad Museum.

Brownies and hot chocolate are a few of the tasty treats to try while the kiddos build crosses and decorate Christmas ornaments, write letters to Santa and more.

This year will also include the Treats for Santa Competition and Big Wheel Races for kids and adults.

Enjoy the giant inflatable snow slide and then stroll to the Railroad Museum and experience holiday train demos and mini-train rides.

Start a new tradition and create lasting memories at the 10th annual Christmas Under the Stars Festival Friday December 7th and Saturday December 8th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

The Lighted Christmas Parade will take place Thursday, December 6th at 6:30 PM in Downtown Brownwood and is sponsored by the Texas Rock Crusher Railway.

The group gets together monthly to cook, share recipes and do demonstrations.  Members may learn about the latest techniques and equipment.
 
Public is welcome.

This exhibit commemorates the 100th anniversary of the first war that would sweep the world and cause destruction around the globe.
Ending in 1918, it changed warfare forever. Come view the photos and stories that tell how the U.S. was caught up in this terrible conflict– how it happened, and what came next. With photos from the early age of aviation, learn how America took flight in war time.

Admission $3 and includes this and all exhibits

Dec 22    Toys for Kids Distribution
For Parents who have previously registered  their child to receive toys on Sat. Dec. 22nd. The parents will come to the warehouse at an assigned time and with the help of an elf, will pick out toys for their children. The toys can then be wrapped by one of the many Santa's helpers. all 500+ families will come on December 22nd to get toys at no charge. Volunteers are needed to help with the distribution from 7am-5pm

Dec 22    Holiday at the Lake
Celebrate the holidays with us! Join us in the historic Group Recreation Hall for activities that will include historic toy making and a campfire talk with a park ranger. There will also be hot chocolate, coffee, cookies, and the chance to visit and take photos with Santa. Overnight visitors are encouraged to decorate their sites in celebration.
