Sep 1    Back to School Scavenger Hunt
Hosted by "BTN" (Better Than Nothing). This will be a "selfie" scavenger hunt (bring your smart phone or digital camera),where you will be given a fun list of things to find/do at the park, all while you are competing for prizes.
Going with the theme of "back to School, come dressed up as a "nerd", Screech or Urkel, for example, to earn extra points for your team along with a 5% discount. All school personnel will be given a 5% discount to celebrate all of their hard work (whether you dress in costume or not).
Hunt is intended for entertainment only. Prizes vary from a Sky King Drone, gift certificates, to gag gifts!

Sep 6    2018 Annual Business Expo & The Taste of the Brownwood Area
The 2018 Annual Business Expo & The Taste of The Brownwood Area
The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce will host the 24th Annual Business Expo and 12th Annual Taste of the Brownwood Area event on Thursday, September 6th at the Brownwood Coliseum.  Businesses throughout the area will be participating in this event representing various lines of trade.

The Expo will open at 10:00 AM and will wrap up at 5:00 PM.  Admission at the door will be $2. Complimentary passes will be available for a limited time at the Brownwood Chamber of Commerce 
at  600 E. Depot St.

All visitors to the show will have the opportunity to win booth prizes from each of the exhibitors. Those who participate in  "Expo Bingo"  may enter to win the grand prize

The Taste of the Brownwood Area will offer the community the opportunity to sample favorite recipes from local restaurants, caterers and bakeries.  From 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, expo visitors can sample tasty treats. Each visitor will receive 4 free The Taste of the Brownwood Area tickets with the $2 admission fee. In an effort to provide the public with additional information, the City of Brownwood will host a public information session about the new floodplain map. The effective date of the new map is August 28, 2018. It will be a come and go event from 4-6:30. Representatives from the city, Brown County and the city of Early will be on hand to field questions.
