The cowboy: Kenny Bartram will be a featured act at the 2019 Brown County Rodeo! Come see his high flying, death defying acts in Cowboy Kenny’s steel rodeo!
Kenny Bartram is an American professional freestyle motocross rider. Bartram is from Stillwater, Oklahoma, hence his nickname "The Cowboy" (Oklahoma State University is located in Stillwater, their mascot is the cowboy and their colors are also orange, which Bartram usually wears). Before his career in FMX, he won many Oklahoma State Series MX Races. Out of all other riders, he currently has the most wins, 57 in all. He is a 10 Time X Game Medalist, Nitro Circus rider, 7 Time FMX World Champ, Steel Rodeo Tour participant, 2 Time Rally Car Champion, and SAG Stunt Man.
Come out Friday and Saturday before the rodeo for the market and trade days!

Let’s rodeo Brown County! Brandon Dunn the rodeo barrelman reports, “It will be such a privilege to be with y’all the weekend of June 6, 7, and 8 at the Brown County Fair and Rodeo!”
Coming from a rodeo family, at the age of 14 he became interested in pursuing a career as a rodeo clown and bullfighter. He started out working high school rodeos and local bull ridings. As his career developed, he was able to move on to the professional ranks, working both PRCA rodeos as well as PBR bull ridings. In the late 90’s he had the opportunity to go on tour with the Original Wrangler bullfighters. His career took him coast to coast until a devastating car accident left him with career ending injuries. After 11 years out of the arena, his good friend, TC Long, asked him to consider coming back as a rodeo clown/barrelman. He still had such a deep desire,to be in the arena, only this time from inside the barrel. He reports he will be turning 45 this year and he gets asked, “Isn’t it time to slow down?” to which he replies, “Man, I’m just getting started!”

Margaret has been drawing, painting and snapping photos since her childhood on the Gulf Coast of Texas. After studying art at Abilene Christian University she lived for many years in Upstate New York where her love of the land, sky, and sea intensified and landscape became her dominant expression. Since moving to Texas, she has not only explored and painted the abundant beauty of her southwestern surroundings but also has found joy in photography while traveling North America and Europe. Margaret lives and works in Lubbock, Texas, and is a plein air painting instructor at the Garden and Arts Center in Lubbock,Texas. With such a diverse background of interest including acrylics, oils, and even photography she is sure to shine under the Brownwood Art Center lights! |

Gates open at 7:00 pm with mutton busting at 7:30 and grand entry at 8pm. General admission at the gate will be $10 for adults and $5 for kids or advanced tickets will be $8 for adults and $3 for kids. Pre sale tickets will begin next month.

| Stagecoach Station Venues is co-hosting the Central Texas Cowboy Gathering - a three day event beginning with a Story-telling Contest and culminating with Cowboy Church on Sunday morning in "The Basement" at Stagecoach Station Venues. In between, a Western Swing Band for Friday night's musical entertainment, a fun-filled Saturday with a Western Reenactment group, lots of music from performers across the state and featuring performances from International Western Music Association singers and songwriters. Cowboy poetry, merchandise vendors, food vendors, farm and ranch demonstrations, and for the kids: Pony rides, Barrel train rides, and Face painting. The collection bins are available on the first and third Saturdays at Avenue A and Brady (under the Austin Avenue overpass) and on the last Saturday at Flagship Inn at 8875 Highway 279 by the Lake Brownwood bridge. Items accepted: glass bottles and jars, cardboard, fiberboard(cereal boxes etc.), newspapers, magazines and catalogs, aluminum cans, white office paper ( whole and shredded), metal cans (food), and #1 plastic water and soda bottles. Please bring items clean and separated. There are volunteers to help direct you where items go and whether or not we can recycle the items. Don't be shy! We are always looking for additional volunteers to help with this event and others. |

The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce will host a welcome reception for Jace Jones, Chief Executive Officer at Brownwood Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, June 18th at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce offices located at 600 E. Depot Street in Brownwood.
The come-and-go reception will be held from 4-5:30 PM.
Refreshments will be served.
Jones attained his bachelor’s degree in history/government at UT Austin, his master’s degree in public health, health management and policy from Texas A&M in College Station, and doctorate in public health from the University of North Texas in Fort Worth.
Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer at CHS-affiliated Abilene Regional Medical Center in Abilene. As COO, he was an integral part of the leadership team, overseeing the operations of service lines including radiology, laboratory and physical therapy, in addition to plant operations, food and nutrition, physician practices, and physician recruitment. Prior to his tenure in Abilene, Jace served as Assistant Administrator at CHS-affiliated DeTar Healthcare in Victoria, where he managed primary care physician practices and coordinated hospital service line development for inpatient and outpatient lab and radiology services. He began working in health care as a Practice Administrator in his hometown of Bryan where he subsequently served as Quality and Compliance Coordinator at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. |

Jae Nelson’s yoga path began over 12 years ago, and was solidified with her certification as a yoga instructor.
